Principal's Message



As we work our way through the “soft closure” of our schools, we realize that everyone is faced with different challenges and difficulties brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. Our goal at Milford Elementary School is to continue to provide high quality educational experiences and instruction although the method in which we deliver that instruction will differ from what most of us are accustomed to. Faculty and staff will be using Wednesday and Thursday to ensure that we have a schedule for students that will allow them to access lesson materials and also times when they will have access to their teachers through various digital means (email, Google Classroom, CANVAS, Google Hangouts, DoJo, etc). 

We realize that there are likely many of our students who may have left text books or other items at school when they left last Thursday. We will use the following schedule for students to come to the school to pick up items that may be needed. We will have the items available in the classroom. To keep everybody safe we ask that either you or your child go to the classroom mudroom door.  This pick-up schedule is for Thursday March 19th, and should allow your student to make it to next Friday March 26th.  At that time we will have an additional pick up if necessary. If you have an emergency and can’t make it Thursday please come on Friday but only in case of an emergency.

Students with last names beginning with: A,B: Pick up at 9:00 C: Pick up at 9:20 D,E,F: Pick up at 9:40 G,H: Pick up at 10:00 I,J,K,L: Pick up at 10:20 M: Pick up at 10:40 N,O,P,Q,R: Pick up at 11:00 S: Pick up at 11:20 T,U,V: Pick up at 11:40 W,X,Y,Z: Pick up at 12:00

For those who wish to have the school provide breakfast and/or lunch for their student(s), those meals will be available at the same rates that you currently pay (some pay full-rate, some qualify to pay a reduced-rate, and some qualify for free breakfast/lunch). The Meal Request Form must be completed by 8:30 PM the evening prior to the day you would like to pick up the meal(s).  For example, fill out the form Friday Night for Monday morning meals, Monday for Tuesday, etc.... Meals for Milford Elementary and Milford High School students can be picked up in front of Milford Elementary, at the main front entrance inside or outside depending on weather. We will have school employees there to assist you in obtaining your meals. Please also make certain that you complete all fields in the Meal Request Form each evening.  Lunches will consist of “sack lunch” items and breakfast will be comprised of various breakfast type items. 

Please, continue to monitor our Facebook page, your email, and our website for further information.  All students will start online school Friday March 20th, and will be required to complete teacher assigned work.  We will be taking attendance so it’s important that they complete each daily work load.
